PROG Holdings Shares Surge on $100 Million Buyback Move

The company finalized the deal with Bank of America, providing an upfront payment of $100 million in exchange for an initial delivery of approximately 2.59 million shares. While the immediate transaction is complete, the final settlement of the program is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2027, at which point the total share count will be fully reconciled.

To finance the move, PROG Holdings is tapping into existing cash reserves and utilizing borrowings from its current credit agreement. These purchases fall under the umbrella of the firm's broader, pre-existing stock buyback authorization, signaling a sustained effort to return value to shareholders through capital allocation.
