The Breakup Mover: How Hannah Crawford Built a Niche Logistics Business

When London theater producer Hannah Crawford noticed a surge of women and LGBTQ individuals expressing fear over hiring traditional moving services after a separation, she decided to intervene. The venture, which began with modest posts in local Facebook groups, quickly gained traction as clients shared stories of harassment from previous movers. Crawford found herself booked six days a week, eventually scaling operations to include a team of 20 movers across the U.K. A viral Instagram campaign this past June acted as a catalyst for growth, pushing monthly revenue to $13,000.

Crawford is now scaling her business model, aiming for 100 moves per month and a monthly revenue of $67,000 by year-end. Beyond the financial milestones, she views the service as a necessary shift in how personal transitions are handled for vulnerable populations. The company continues to prioritize safety and trust as it moves into new territories.
