Link-U Swings to Annual Loss as Revenue Stagnates

A 554 million yen net loss for the fiscal year ending July 31 marks a sharp reversal for Tokyo-based Link-U Inc., which posted a 147 million yen profit just one year prior. The company’s latest financial statement reveals a fundamental erosion of margins as operating costs outpaced modest revenue streams.

Revenue dipped slightly to 4.80 billion yen from the previous year’s 4.84 billion yen, signaling a period of stagnation for the firm. More significant, however, is the collapse in profitability: the company reported an operating loss of 382 million yen against the previous year’s 326 million yen profit. Pretax figures mirrored this downward trajectory, settling at a 380 million yen loss compared to a 308 million yen gain in 2025. Diluted earnings per share plummeted to a loss of 39.14 yen, a stark contrast to the 10.41 yen profit recorded in the prior period. These results, prepared under IFRS accounting standards, highlight the mounting pressure on the company’s bottom line as it navigates a challenging economic landscape.
