The decision follows a lawsuit from the Democratic National Committee, which alleged the administration used government resources to finance a propaganda campaign. The advertisements explicitly claimed to be paid for by the U.S. government, while attacking political opponents as Marxists and praising the president's military operations abroad. One unreleased spot even suggested divine intervention in Trump’s political rise.

Judge Blocks Trump Administration’s Taxpayer-Funded Ad Campaign
With Election Day less than a week away, U.S. District Judge Loren AliKhan has blocked the Trump administration from using public funds for a national media campaign promoting the president. The ruling halts a $20 million allocation from the White House Office of Management and Budget intended for political advertising.

Despite a prior court order on October 11 mandating the campaign’s cancellation, the Department of Justice admitted the ads aired hundreds of times afterward. Trump had previously pledged to transition the costs to his super PAC, MAGA Inc., but Judge AliKhan noted that the promise remained unfulfilled. The court found that utilizing federal appropriations for such purposes violates laws against domestic propaganda and unfairly disrupts the electoral process, providing a significant legal victory for the DNC just days before the midterm polls.
