Roivant Stock Climbs as Brepocitinib Succeeds in Phase 3 Uveitis Trials

An 8.1% premarket surge pushed Roivant shares to $37.74 on Wednesday, following successful late-stage clinical results for brepocitinib. The drug, aimed at treating non-infectious uveitis, met its primary endpoint by significantly delaying treatment failure compared to a placebo, offering new hope for a condition that frequently leads to permanent vision loss.

The phase 3 trials tested a once-daily 45-milligram dose of the treatment, which also demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements in secondary benchmarks, such as ocular quiescence and the resolution of macular edema. Priovant Therapeutics, the Roivant-owned subsidiary overseeing the asset, intends to submit a supplemental new drug application by the first half of 2027.

Non-infectious uveitis affects an estimated 70,000 to 190,000 adults across the United States. Beyond the risk of blindness, the inflammatory condition causes persistent pain and visual impairment that disrupts routine tasks like driving and working. Before Wednesday’s jump, the company’s stock had already posted a 61% gain for the year, reflecting high investor confidence in its pipeline.
