Eli Lilly’s Omvoh Shows Efficacy in Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis Trial

Eight in ten children with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis responded to treatment with Eli Lilly’s Omvoh during a late-stage clinical trial. The study, involving patients aged 6 to 17, reached its primary endpoint by demonstrating significant clinical and endoscopic improvement over a 52-week observation period.

Eli Lilly’s Omvoh Shows Efficacy in Pediatric Ulcerative Colitis Trial

The Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company reported that 81% of participants achieved a clinical response to the drug at the 12-week induction mark. Among those initial responders, half reached full clinical remission by the end of the year-long study. These results provide a robust foundation for the company’s upcoming regulatory submissions.

Eli Lilly intends to use this data to seek a label expansion for Omvoh, which is already authorized for adult patients suffering from the same inflammatory bowel disease. By targeting this younger demographic, the firm aims to address a critical gap in pediatric treatment options for chronic, debilitating digestive conditions.
