Regeneron Secures EU Support for Extended Libtayo Dosing Schedule

Patients undergoing treatment with the oncology drug Libtayo may soon face fewer clinical visits, as the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use endorsed a shift in administration frequency. The proposed change allows for a transition to a six-week dosing interval following an initial three-month induction period.

The recommendation marks a significant shift for the Tarrytown-based biotechnology firm, streamlining the maintenance phase for all currently approved cancer indications. Previously, patients were required to receive the medication every three weeks throughout the duration of their therapy.

Regeneron anticipates a formal decision from the European Commission in the coming months. While the Commission maintains independent authority, it typically aligns with the Committee’s scientific assessments, suggesting the new protocol will likely become the standard practice across the region soon.
