Echo Trading Profits Plummet Amid Rising Operational Costs

Echo Trading Co. Ltd. reported a sharp decline in profitability for the half-year ending August 31, with net profit dropping to 187 million yen from 454 million yen in the same period last year. Despite a modest increase in top-line revenue, the company struggled to maintain its bottom-line margins.

The Japanese firm saw its revenue edge up to 55.06 billion yen, compared to the 52.88 billion yen recorded in 2025. However, this growth failed to offset a significant contraction in core profitability. Operating profit fell to 330 million yen from 677 million yen, while pretax profit slid to 314 million yen against the previous year's 680 million yen. These figures, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, resulted in earnings per share of 30.84 yen, a notable decrease from the 75.24 yen reported during the prior year's comparable period.
