Activists Launch Campaign to Blacklist Ex-Biden Officials Over Gaza Policy

The "Genocide 20" list targets key architects of U.S. policy who have transitioned into prominent positions within the liberal intelligentsia after leaving government. The coalition, which includes the Democratic Socialists of America and About Face, argues that these figures provided cover for the military actions that have resulted in at least 73,000 Palestinian deaths. By demanding these individuals be excluded from future political and academic power, organizers aim to end a culture of elite immunity they claim shields officials from accountability for war crimes.

Targeting the Architects of Policy

The list includes high-ranking figures such as former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, accused of misleading Congress regarding humanitarian aid, and former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who publicly rejected claims of genocide despite findings from international bodies. Also named are Brett McGurk, Jon Finer, John Kirby, and Linda Thomas-Greenfield. The campaign asks institutions to pledge against granting these officials platforms or positions that could perpetuate further harm.

While the list is limited to 20 individuals, the coalition maintains that many more within the government bear responsibility. Support for the campaign is already gaining traction among elected officials, including Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Pennsylvania state Rep. Chris Rabb. Organizers emphasize that the effort is intended to move beyond rhetoric, arguing that politicians who label the situation in Gaza a genocide must logically refuse to validate those who executed the underlying policies.
