Daktronics Shares Rally as Quarterly Profit Beats Estimates

Shares of Daktronics surged 8.5% to $21.01 in Wednesday's premarket session after the display manufacturer reported a rise in first-quarter profit and sales. The company’s net income reached $19.4 million for the period ending August 1, outpacing the $16.5 million recorded during the same quarter last year.

Earnings per share hit 40 cents, clearing the 38-cent consensus estimate from analysts polled by FactSet. Revenue for the quarter rose 7.1% to $234.6 million, aligning with broader Wall Street expectations. This performance marks a rebound for the stock, which had previously seen a 2.4% decline year-to-date through Tuesday's close.

Chief Executive Ramesh Jayaraman attributed the results to strong momentum in core markets and a robust sales pipeline. He confirmed that the firm remains positioned to reach its long-term financial goals by fiscal 2028.
