Warby Parker Names Former Macy’s Executive Adrian Mitchell as CFO

Warby Parker has appointed Adrian Mitchell as its new chief financial officer, tapping a retail veteran to steer its financial strategy as the eyewear disruptor continues its expansion. Mitchell, who most recently served as the finance chief and operations head at Macy’s, officially assumes the role this Tuesday.

Warby Parker Names Former Macy’s Executive Adrian Mitchell as CFO

The appointment follows the departure of Steve Miller, who stepped down on Oct. 1 after a 14-year tenure at the company to join Monumental Sports & Entertainment. Since Miller’s exit, co-CEO Dave Gilboa has managed the financial operations on an interim basis. Mitchell’s arrival brings a seasoned perspective to the executive team, following his three-year stint at Macy’s and previous leadership roles at Crate & Barrel.

Strengthening the Executive Bench

Mitchell, 52, carries over 25 years of experience in the consumer brand sector. Beyond his executive track record, he currently sits on the board of Stanley Black & Decker and previously served as a board member for REI. His transition to Warby Parker comes after Macy's announced a leadership change in its finance department earlier this April.

According to the company's filing, Warby Parker will pay Mitchell a base salary of $530,000. The compensation package also includes various equity awards and a one-time sign-on stock grant valued at $1 million.
